The best drill to get a correct posture
I hate to be sexist, but as a rule, us men have appalling posture in golf. Here is the best way to get that sorted. Take an iron club in your right hand. Hold it so that the toe of the club is pointing towards your tummy. Move the shaft of the iron over your head and down your back along your spine. Make sure that your head is touching the club. Then, with your other hand, clasp the grip of the golf club against the base of your spine. At this point the shaft of the golf club will be touching your spine, other than at two points, the small of your back and your neck.
It will feel strange to begin with
Then, tip forwards from the hips. Ensure that the shaft stays attached as before to your back. Then unlock your knees. This is the ideal posture for you to play your best golf.
If that does not feel strange, then you are probably not doing it right. If you feel that you look like a duck, you are on the right lines.
Now that you have a much straighter spine at address you will be able to turn your shoulders better. This should immediately reduce the incidence of slicing.
