Ian has over twenty years of experience as a golf professional, and during that time has focussed his career toward teaching the game he loves. Ian is one of our Master Professionals here at New Malden.
Ian has previously taught in the Middle East with stints in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, he joined the World of Golf in 1999.
Ian is a Titleist Performance Institute certified instructor, as well as a K-Vest certified instructor and a putting zone accredited coach, Ian is also a Golfing Machine Master instructor, which shows in the quality of instruction that he produces. He also uses modern technology in his teachings including, K-Vest, Trackman, SAM balance lab, TOMI putting analysis and V1 video technology.
Ian has made a lifetime vocation to learn from the best teachers and has studied under many of them, that list includes, Jim Flick, Homer Kelley, Mike Bender, Lynn Blake, Jim McLean, Ben Doyle, Chuck Cook, Geoff Mangum, Andy Plummer, Mike Bennett, Martin Hall, and Dr Karl Morris.
Ian is a regular contributor for Golf World magazine, with his instruction articles regularly appearing in the magazine, he has also published his own e-book, ‘50 drills from the driving range’, with another book on it way. Ian has also held many regular speaking engagements, speaking at the PGA National golf show, and speaking at the PGA South Region coaching conference, he also presents seminars to fellow members of the PGA.
Ian uses outstanding and imaginative communication skills as well as many different training aids in all his lessons, and as an ardent student of the game his enthusiasm for golf is infectious.

Jon Woodroffe is the UK’s number one expert in coaching beginners. In 25 years he has introduced more than 16,000 people to the game of golf, this has led to him being bestowed the staus of Advanced Fellow of the PGA which is a level attained by only 75 of the 7,500 British PGA golf professionals in the world. Jon also specialises in middle to high handicap golfers who yearn to improve without being ripped to pieces.

Richard is particularly proud of introducing the Schools Go for Free initiative to World of Golf in 2009, so far enabling over 2,000 children from local schools to golf for the first time. The children play our Jurassic Adventure Golf Course, followed by a demonstration, then hit for themselves on the range. A professional for 22 years, Richard has given in excess of 30,000 hours of lessons and his love of golf and teaching is evident from the first moment of meeting him. He enjoys coaching the all levels of golf students, including elite players such as coaching James Braby from non-golfer at 10 years of age, to the Surrey Colts squad and now playing off a +6 handicap. His great thrill, however, is taking a novice or complete beginner, through from learning the basics, to where they have the confidence of playing on the course.

Turned professional at the age of 18 and qualified from the PGA at 21, making Andy one of the youngest qualified professional around at that time. As well as his role here at the World of Golf, he is currently the head professional at Pirbright Golf Course and Managing Director of a coaching company called Little Golfers. Andy has also operated 2 teaching academies at 2 busy driving ranges in Surrey. looking after the coaching of the juniors and adults as well as arranging golf days and even a golf holiday in Turkey.

Andy is known for his ability with working with children. His passion, enthusiasm, friendly manner and fun attitude to coaching makes him one of the best coaches around to get the best from children. His main focus on each session is to make it FUN and the enjoyment and improvement of their golf game with come through from there. Andy is a parent himself and understands the importance of a positive experience for the child and knows one poor experience could put them off this great game for life. Andy has worked with children from 2 years old and has the range of skills to include every child whatever their age and ability in the same session. He has introduced golf to thousands of children and has experience of helping children with special requirements.
As much as Andy is known for his junior coaching, Andy has great knowledge of the game and his attitude to coaching will help any new or existing golfer, young or old, get the most form the learning experience and enjoy the process.

Golf Background:
Sam started golf comparatively late at the age of 15 at Shirley Park Golf Club but got hooked by the game and soon saw his handicap tumble.
Wanting to make a career in golf, Sam's first step from Riddlesdown High School was to enrol on the National Diploma in Golf Studies at Merrist Wood College near Guildford. He completed this with distinction and immediately enrolled on the PGA Foundation Degree course taking the role of assistant professional at Dulwich & Sydenham Golf Club.
After three years learning the trade, Sam joined the World of Golf team at Croydon increasing his experience in the field of golf coaching at this busy range and also incorporated working in the American Golf Store becoming an expert on custom fitting golf clubs and how that can improve customers golf. His playing improved as he worked on his game and achieved several Top Five Finishes in the local Pro Am events. He has now moved to New Malden World of Golf to concentrate on his coaching and to help us drive the Free Beginners Group Class Programme.
Coaching Philosophy
Sam's enthusiastic nature is ideally suited to helping all standards of players improve their golf and get more enjoyment from the game. He is unendingly patient with beginners and his sense of humour makes the process of learning this frustrating game fun. His approach to coaching is simple, improve what the customer already has not scrap it all and start again, concentrate on the basic fundamentals of grip and set up as this is where all errors originate, from there quick improvements can come.

Originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, Grant joined the "World of Golf" team in June 2008. An accomplished amateur player he represented his region at both age group and senior levels. He possesses an infectious passion for the game and an astute golfing brain Grant prides himself on his ability to communicate his knowledge to all levels of player with particular attention applied to the basics of technique and playing. Grant does not believe that one swing technique works for everybody and adapts his approach to suit the individual.

Biography:
Leaving school to become a golf professional his first job was at Thames Ditton and Esher golf club and he worked his way up from assistant to become the head professional at this pleasant 9 hole private golf club in Surrey. From there a year long spell teaching golf at Eastlake Golf Club in Australia followed and an enthusiasm for coaching golf was born.
On returning to the UK Mark spent 3 years teaching golf at Burgess Hill in Sussex before returning home to Thames Ditton and Esher as their head professional again, a role he still holds along with teaching here at World of Golf New Malden.

Mark employs simple and concise teaching methods with an emphasis on finding out what the pupil is trying to achieve and not trying to turn everyone into Tiger Woods!
Mark thoroughly enjoys teaching golfers of all abilities but especially likes taking a complete novice or infrequent golfer and turning them into a golfer who is capable of playing golf anywhere and ENJOYING IT!
He has managed to get a variety of juniors down to very low handicaps including Scott Bryan, now on a Wentworth scholarship, who he has helped to get down to a handicap of 6 (with 2 hole in one's!) by the age of 11.
